Surgical instruments
In open surgery, ELCON Medical Instruments offers more than 14,000 surgical instruments for almost all surgical disciplines. Our surgical instruments are made of European or Japanese steel and meet the highest international standards in execution, technology and design. ELCON Medical Instruments’ surgical instruments are certified according to EN ISO 13485 : 2016 as well as by the FDA and are currently distributed in 88 countries worldwide.

General Surgery
The surgical instruments from Elcon Medical Instruments in the “general surgery” field are used in all standard sets of surgical instruments and in diagnostics. The general surgery instruments are additionally used to complement the instruments in special fields such as ENT, ophthalmology, thoracic surgery, bone surgery or microsurgery. With around 8,000 instruments, general surgery instruments represent the largest part of our product range.
ENT Surgery
In the field of ENT surgery, ELCON Medical Instruments offers a very broad product range and covers almost all fields of ENT surgery. 60 different set proposals can be offered, including one for sinus surgery (FESS), tonsillectomy, micro ear and laryngeal surgery or plastic ENT surgery .
Ophthalmology
Instruments in ophthalmology are characterized by very fine and precise working ends to meet the highest demands of surgical techniques in ophthalmology. In addition to very fine eye tweezers and eye scissors, ELCON Medical Instruments offers a very wide range of instruments in ophthalmology with more than 30 different instrument sets for performing operations, for example, on cataracts or glaucoma.
Bone Surgery
Bone surgery instruments from Elcon Medical Instruments are available in several sub-fields, such as trauma surgery or orthopaedics. Wire nippers or gouge forceps are just as much a part of the bone surgery product range as drilling equipment, saws or “Made By” products Kirschner and Steinmann wires. ELCON Medical Instruments offers various set configurations with matching basket system as well as sterilization containers for the bone surgery field.
Microsurgery
Microsurgery covers a wide range of surgical applications. It is based on the most delicate surgical techniques, which means that microsurgery allows operations with minimal traumatic injuries. Ceramic coated dismountable Kerrison rongeurs or Rhoton sets made of stainless steel or titanium are also part of the microsurgery product range as well as, for example, Yasargil vessel clips as a “Made By” product. ELCON Medical Instruments can offer different set configurations with matching basket system and sterilization containers for the microsurgical field.
Vascular and thoracic Surgery
Elcon Medical Instruments offers a versatile product programme for surgery on the vascular system and thoracic organs with its catalogue for vascular and thoracic surgery. The instrument set for vascular and thoracic surgery includes, for example, retractor systems according to Finochietto, clamps according to Cooley or Debakey, and bulldog clamps made of stainless steel or titanium. ELCON Medical Instruments is able to offer various set configurations with matching screen basket system and sterilization container for the field of vascular and thoracic surgery.
HF – Surgery
ELCON Medical Instruments offers a wide range of monopolar and bipolar instruments for HF surgery, compatible with all common HF surgery generators and cables with European or US 2-pin connector.
Universal Ring Retractor Sytem
The Universal Ring Retractor System is a surgical instrument used to keep tissues and organs apart during surgery, allowing better visibility of the surgical site. It is a self-retaining system that can be attached to an operating table or held in the hand. The system consists of a ring to which different types of retractors can be attached to pull the tissue apart as required.
Retractor for the spine
In addition to retractor systems such as the table-fixed ‘Ring Retractor System’, which have been tried and tested for many years and are used worldwide, we also have a large number of retractor systems in our program, which are used in spinal surgery.
